Packed Weekend

In addition to our routine tasks over the weekend, we also went to Ah Shun and Hui Shi's place to celebrate 3 year old Jiaxuan's birthday. She's so adorable and rather smart for her age.

On Sunday, Shian and i also went to Yum Cha for night Dim Sum over dinner. Again, our first time checking out the place. Pretty cosy and the food was not too bad :)

The month of June is indeed a packed mth for me. Busy with work and lots of gatherings, parties and things to do......much as i enjoy all these, hmmm i think i need some extended time to catch up on beauty sleep soon......

My Birthday!

Last Friday was my birthday. Shian and I took leave so we can spend time together.

We went to Upp Thomon to have Prata for breakfast! Haha, since we last went on his birthday, we both got hooked.

We then went to Sentosa! A place we always talked about going but haven't gone. Finally!

First time taking the train to Sentosa - so suaku right!

As it was the school holidays, everywhere was really crowded. We were strolling along Siloso beach when we saw that Cafe Del Mar was pretty empty! We decided to go in and chill out. So glad we went! The place is so so so so cool! Suaku us - its the first time we were there. Check out the awesome bed we had:

The beautiful scenary we were facing....Dear is posing in front of it =) :

The place not only faces the sea, but also has an inbuilt pool that is just in front of the bar:

It was kind of nice that the sun wasn't really that hot when we were there. We had a good time enjoying the music, drinks, scenary, relaxing away and chatting. The service there was also pretty good.

Pity though, since there was not much sun, we didn't get to see sunset there. The evening view when they started lighting up the place:

We also went to catch "Songs of the Sea" - the replacement of the now defunct "Musical Fountain". It is a "musical fountain" show with laser add-ons and humans singing and dancing. Not too bad, except the performance was too short.

One of the characters behind in the laser show - Oscar:

Back home, i had a simple cake cutting ceremony with Dad, Mum and Dear. Its really nice that my parents still sing "Happy Birthday" to me loud and clear even when i am so old already =p

Not forgetting the sweet birthday card Shian did for me - a montage of our photos over the time together, even including pics of my QQ and Xiong Xiong and our flat, my favourite Dunkin Donuts and Ben & Jerry's, all artistically put together and placed in my favourite Strawberry Shortcake folder which he specially got for me. Really touched he bothered to remember all my likes and put up with all my girly nonsense :)

Another memorable birthday! :)

Unplanned Long Weekend ....

I had an unplanned long weekend these few days. Had a terrible headache from last Tuesday and by Thursday it still did not subside, so I went to see a doctor and realised it was tension headache that is caused by my long hrs of work and stiff posture that caused my back, neck, shoulder muscles to be strained which pulled back and caused my head to have this prolonged tension headache. To think i actually thought it was migraine. So, I was actually on mc for thur and fri. Nonetheless, with so much work and the fact that my boss was on long leave, i was practically on the laptop doing work for half of each of Thur and Fri.

On sat, my family had a Father's day dinner at LemonGrass Siglap. We had a mini Mocca Cheesecake with 3 candles for the 3 fathers - Ah Gong, Dad and CJ. Haha, but guess who blew out the candles? The 2 boys who's ever so excited about blowing candles on cakes :)

On Sunday, i had another round of Father's Day dinner with Shian's family. We had tim sum at Jln Besar. Cosy cafe, nice food :) Rather unique to be having tim sum for dinner. Pity the picture was kinda blur.

And I'm on leave today! It was our flat selection appointment with HDB. Thank God for the miracle! We got a unit! Praise God for turning things around even when the situation seemed so bleak! All my sleepless nights and worries are now over :) It is now the start of lots of hard work and effort in planning....Thanks to all who prayed with us and for us. Thanks Dear for praying and believing together with me as well :)

Well well, its been 5 days since i went to work, much as i tried to clear some work from home, i'm feeling drained and tired and phobic of the ever piled up work waiting for me.....till my next leave day on Friday :) hehe so glad i got another day soon to look forward to *Smiles*.

Victimised thoughts ....

How does sibling rivalry occur as a result?

On the surface, it could be because the siblings just don't get along or are constantly fighting over due to fame, power and $$$.

What actually is the cause behind all these? Often, it is caused by the parents, who choose to favour on one and neglect or hurt the other(s).

There is no fairness in this world???

Yes! Some people slog like hell, yet they get all the bad things happening to them in life. They also struggle through for everything that they want before they get it or perhaps despite their efforts, they may never be rewarded. Others? Well, the lucky ones, they get it sometimes without even asking.

People tend to forget the good things you have done

This is so true. People remember all the bad things you have done, or the things you fail to do or not done well enough. However, they never remember the good things you have done.

Don't try to cover up, Don't try to avoid - it only shows you have something to hide

Yes, this is especially irritating when they are people close to you and they obviously have poor "undercover" skills.

Another movie weekend...

Was looking forward for a long long time for Shrek 3. Finally! Shian and I caught it yesterday. Well, the Ogre baby was cute, other than that, was rather disappointed with the whole show. Its not as funny, not as cute as Shrek 1 and 2. Still, am touched Dear went specially down to Orchard a day before to get the tickets so that we can have good seats :)
Looking forward to more movies to come......Oceans Thirteen, Fantastic Four, Transformer, Harry Potter .....

My birthday wish for this year ...

As the time gets nearer to my birthday, I feel a strong desire for what I really really want. This time howevever, it is something that not just having money will enable me to get it. I can only hope and pray that my heavenly Father will provide. What blesses and touches my heart most, is that Shian prayed with me to Jesus for this.

Dear Jesus, you see in our heart's desire what we need, and what we want. We acknowledge that only you can make a miracle for us. We leave everything in your hands. We believe that no matter what the outcome is, you have a reason and a purpose. We know that you will surely make a way for us.

*Amen*

Karen's bdae - family celebration @ Airport Swensons!

Its been weeks since i last saw my 2 nephews and princess niece! Was looking forward all week to see them. It was my elder sis' bdae, mum organised and treated all of us to dine at Airport T2 Swensons on Friday.

Really saw the great pains my parents took to make my sis happy. Mum actually bought a bdae card and made the 2 boys write their names on the card as a surprise for Sis. Gareth wrote his name in English and Gavin wrote his chinese name on the card. Mind you, their chinese names are so difficult to write, they are made of traditional chinese characters and their names have many strokes to it! So for a 5+ yr old to write it himself, was really WOW! Sis was obviously touched!

Our family had a good time feasting and chatting and being entertained by the 3 beautiful kids.

As usual, the kids love cake-cutting time!

And not forgetting my shot with Princess Claire :)
