So packed with events as usual...

Last wed i attended the Singapore Business Awards Press Conference and Dinner event at night. It is one of the biggest event of the year for us. An eye opener for me. All ladies have to wear gowns and all men in tuxedo. I was really stressed trying to buy a gown at the last min only to realise that most gowns out there are too short for me. Finally found something decent then was having headache about make-over. In the end, i hastily agreed to engage someone for my hair styling and make-up but he turned out to be quite a disappointment. Anyhow, the event had to go on. I enjoyed it a lot becos it was held at my dream Hotel - Ritz Carlton! I stayed there and attended several events there before...thought the service there is superb and the facilities and amenities there are also great....really like the ambience there...in fact, my dream is to wed there...haha ....just one of those little gal dream...hard to be fufilled in reality...

On Saturday was Rex's and Cherie's customary wedding. I was tasked with playing "sister" at the morning event. This is my second time doing this. I must say its not as fresh and fun as the first time i did it. The guys were not exactly very sporting =p and it was tough getting them to participate. Anyhow it was a compliment from everyone that i seemed really in control of the situation and seemed very experience. Most wonderful compliment i got - everyone actually thought i'm much younger than i really am! Ha Ha Ha! I also helped at the reception at the dinner. Was very tired throughout, but i'm so glad i made quite a few new friends amongst the bros and sis that day. I brought my camera that day but was too lazy to take pics and well.....guess got to wait till the pics from the couple's photographer gets passed to me. Will share when i get it.

On sunday was a family gathering with my maternal family. Occasion? Well, my granduncle who migrated with his family to California 28 years ago came back to visit. Possibly the last time since he and his wife are getting too old to take long flights. I've met him around 3-4 times in my life. Not exactly very close to him. However, i must say its always such a wonderful priviledge to be able to chat with him. He is old in age but very healthy, knowledgeable and wise. He brings with him life's experiences that spans through WWII, global arena, the kampong life of Singapore history and the challenges living in the States. Again, i brought my camera but was too lazy to bring it out. I guess the best memories are captured in our minds.

Come Monday is just another workweek. Life goes on. Work is really busy...i enjoy my work but i also realised i haven't had a day's break for the last 3 mths. And within this period, i also moved house, helped at 2 weddings, busy with CNY visitations and spring cleaning....etc etc...my addiction to travel has re-surfaced again. I feel i really need a break, to go travelling and to relax, unwind. Strong desires to go to Melbourne, Japan or Spain. But due to circumstances, may go to Taipei, one of the cities i also hope to visit.

Yesterday i did something worthwhile at work....went for my community service work which was organised by my company. It's called the "Vege Express". We drove our company van to the pasir panjang wholesale center to collect vegetables and fruits and then we went to somewhere in Queenstown to meet old folks from Lions Befrienders. We then pack about 400+ packets of fruits and vegetables which we went round to deliver to needy elderly from neighbourhood area. Its an experience for me as i normally don't do marketing, much less going to the wholesale center. Also, its very worthwhile cos i get to bring smiles on the faces of these needy old folks. Most of all, it was fun! And i even get to taste the home cooked lunch by the elderly!

Well...actually also feeling rather broke...spent quite a bit to buy my new pda phone - O2 Xda Atom. Actually plan to buy after i save up more. But then my E800 suddenly had LCD probs and since i've been feeling the need for a pda since i got this new job, i decided to get it. Its rather unstable, sometimes switches on and off on its own, i sometimes don't get calls and smses when i should. Anyhow, the overall usage is still ok. The phone is sleek and cool. Lots of functions :) No calls for complain yet...will just see how...Becos of this purchase, am thinking i need to watch my spending....but i just spent quite a bit on Biotherm products today....part of it was what i plan and needed to get and part of it was also cos i'm sweet-talked by the salesgirl....gosh....i can be really an impulse buyer....let's pray hard the products are really useful....now! i really need to watch my budget for the next few months! Hmmmmm....maybe oh maybe....my desired trip may not happen afterall....

Well...its been about 2 weeks since shIan went for reservist. Its tough when work is busy and stressful and I can't get to see or talk to my bf proper for weeks. I'm so glad this is coming to an end...by this week....counting down!

It's been a while....

Well well....its been really some time since i last updated my blog...really appreciate it when friends contacted me to ask what's been happening in my life...making me realise that not only are there people around who remember and care about me but that also meant my blog has got some ardent supporters afterall!

As promised, i am back! It's been more than a month since i last updated....

Well my department at work had a teambuilding session on Feb 10 where we went to Raffles Town club for some indoor games and also lunch. I was tasked with leading the indoor games and it helped that i've got good training on that at cg. :) We also had bowling and i actually got the 3rd highest score out of 15 people :)

Afterwhich we had a game of "Amazing Race" in the central part of singapore. It was tiring but very fun and gave us lots of opportunities to get to know each other better. It not only test our knowledge on Singpaore venues but also on history and culture. It helped to be a little streetsmart :)

Surprisingly enough, i won the "personality" award and "leader award" at the end of the day. Got a swatch watch each for both the awards. How blessed i am!

The first V-dae with shIan...well compared to others, maybe i must have had the simplest v-dae of all. In fact, shIan had lessons on V-dae and we didn't even meet! However, he was sweet. We made it up 2 days before, just a simple dinner at Coffeclub, but i had my favourite Garlic Prawn Pasta and Tiramisu Al Cafe....not posh, not lavish, but I really appreciate the effort shIan took to arrange that dinner. I know i am cherished :)

Next...shIan's sis-in-law gave birth to Baby Nixon on Feb 23! I had a chance to carry the baby again :) so cute :) It's my 4th time carrying a newborn baby and shIan's first. See i am so experienced in carrying the baby as compared to him! haha!

Yes, work has been busy...but i also make effort to catch up with friends...one weekend my best friends at ACJC came to my place, Desmond and Jeslyn and then another weekend my best friends at NTU came over..it was great catching up...updating each other on our lives' and yes! am getting hooked on Pictionary and Taboo - i actually went to buy a set each....am game for more house parties - as long as we can get to eat and play! shIan and I even served our home made fondue with choc sauce from Margaret River, Southern Perth! Glad to know our guests love it!

Congrats to Jen on her pregnancy, Sherin on her upcoming wedding and Xan on her new career with Emirates! Really nice to catch up with all these friends despite everyone's busy schedules. Really appreciate them making the effort to visit my new place, sharing my excitement of my new home :)

And today...i managed to relive my childhood dreams :). Went with Eileen and Kerry to Disney on Ice. Well, many people may tease us, saying that its just for the kids, but anyhow we had a great time, watching all the disney charcters gliding on the ice-skating ring with song and dance and their glamourous costumes....everything is exactly like what we read about in storybooks....we even had cotton candy to munch on while enjoying the show. It was fantastic!
